VENI ensemble presented a new program SAVE OUR SOULS

VENI ensemble, the longest-running contemporary music ensemble in Slovakia, presented a new program SAVE OUR SOULS. This concert featured premieres, Slovak premieres, and iconic works by top composers, performed by three renowned members of VENI ensemble: Ivica Gabrišová (piccolo, flute), Ronald Šebesta (clarinet, bass clarinet), and Ivan Šiller (piano).

The concerts took place on February 11, 2025, at Dvorana VŠMU in Bratislava and February 12, 2025, at Cikker Hall in Banská Bystrica. The evening featured works by Daniel Matej, Salvatore Sciarrino, Lenka Novosedlíková, Andrej Demoč, and Karlheinz Stockhausen.

The premieres included Save Our Souls and LA musica 75 by Daniel Matej, as well as Trblet by Andrej Demoč. A unique part of the program was the iconic cycle Tierkreis by Karlheinz Stockhausen, which consists of twelve melodies inspired by the zodiac signs. The pieces were performed in a version for melodic and harmonic instruments (clarinet, flute, and piano), offering a truly unique musical experience.

The Bratislava concert was an extraordinary event within the Hudba dneška v SNG #50 series, while the Banská Bystrica concert was part of the (Nová) hudba na Rázcestí #10 series. The concerts were made possible with the support of the Slovak Arts Council, the Music Fund, and SOZA. Media partners of the event included Hudobný život and Opera Slovakia.
