VENI ACADEMY: In C in Banská Bystrica

VENI ACADEMY has just launched the fifteenth edition of the project! This year, fifteen talented students from Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary have gathered in Banská Bystrica for a unique opportunity to experience music in ways they wouldn’t normally encounter in school. Under the guidance of experienced lecturers and exceptional international guests, they are diving into creative workshops, lectures, and intensive preparation for the final concert, which will take place on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 19:00 in the Cikker Hall.

VENI ACADEMY is not just an educational project but, above all, a community of passionate young musicians eager to grow and explore new musical worlds. This year is particularly special not only because of an outstanding lineup of lecturers but also due to a program featuring works by contemporary composers, presented in a unique interpretation by our students. The stage will come alive with the music of Robert Kurdybacha, Cornelius Cardew, Terry Riley, and Yoko Ono—music that will surprise you, inspire you, and challenge you to think differently.

The faculty and guest artists for this year’s academy include violinist David Danel (CZ), composer and conductor Robert Kurdybacha (PL), composer and violist Péter Tornyai (HU), pianist Tibor Feledi (SK), artistic director and conductor Daniel Matej (SK), and clarinetist Ronald Šebesta (SK). Each of them brings a unique perspective on musical interpretation and working with students.

If you haven’t yet experienced the atmosphere of VENI ACADEMY concerts, now is the perfect time! Join us on February 16, 2025, at 19:00 in Cikker Hall and become part of this unforgettable musical evening. You’ll have the chance to hear young, talented musicians whose passion and dedication bring a completely new dimension to music. Come and see for yourself that contemporary music can be fascinating, dynamic, and full of emotion.

For years, VENI ACADEMY has been shaping young musicians who later become members of prominent musical ensembles both at home and abroad. This project opens doors to new opportunities, inspires artistic growth, and offers students the chance to collaborate with renowned musicians from various countries. This year’s academy embodies international collaboration and creative energy, which you can experience firsthand.
