Are you eager to explore new musical worlds? Would you like to experience something extraordinary, beyond the limits of traditional music education? Then don’t miss the upcoming VENI ACADEMY 2025, taking place from February 12 to 17, 2025, in Banská Bystrica.
VENI ACADEMY is a unique project that connects young musicians with experienced mentors from the VENI ensemble. This expert team helps students discover music they wouldn’t usually encounter in a standard school setting, inspiring their artistic growth and creativity.
This year’s academy will be particularly special, as it will feature three outstanding international guests who will also serve as mentors. The guest lineup includes:
Robert Kurdybacha (PL) – Artistic Director of Sound Factory, composer, and educator
Péter Tornyai (HU) – Composer and violist
David Danel (CZ) – Violinist
They will be joined by experienced Slovak musicians and educators, including clarinetist Ronald Šebesta and pianist Tibor Feledi, under the leadership of artistic director Daniel Matej.
The academy will offer a wide range of creative activities, lectures, workshops, and a final concert featuring works by world-renowned composers, including Terry Riley and Yoko Ono. The highlight of the academy, the final concert, will take place on February 16, 2025, at Cikker Hall in Banská Bystrica.
VENI ACADEMY is primarily intended for conservatory and music university students who have a good command of their instrument and want to experience something unique. Free accommodation is provided for 10 selected participants, with a total of 20 spots available.
