VENI ensemble, the longest-running contemporary music ensemble in Slovakia, presents a new program: SAVE OUR SOULS. This concert will feature world premieres, Slovak premieres, and iconic works by top composers, performed by three renowned members of VENI ensemble: Ivica Gabrišová (piccolo, flute), Ronald Šebesta (clarinet, bass clarinet), and Ivan Šiller (piano).
The concerts will take place on February 11, 2025, at 19:00 in the Dvorana of the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava ([Facebook event]) and February 12, 2025, at 19:00 in the Cikker Hall in Banská Bystrica ([Facebook event]).
The program includes works by Daniel Matej, Salvatore Sciarrino, Lenka Novosedlíková, Andrej Demoč, and Karlheinz Stockhausen. The evening will feature the premieres of Save Our Souls, LA musica 75 (Matej), and Trblet (Demoč), as well as Stockhausen’s cycle Tierkreis, which consists of 12 melodies based on the zodiac signs. This piece, composed between 1974-1975, will be performed in an arrangement for a melodic and harmonic instrument (clarinet, flute, and piano).
