Samuel won the prestigious ISCM Young Composer Award 2024 for his organ composition Magma<\/em>, which was performed by Hans Hellsten during the World New Music Days festival in the Faroe Islands. The jury praised his masterful handling of the instrument and his creative approach to organ music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award comes with a financial prize of 2,500 euros to create a new piece, approximately 4-7 minutes long, for a maximum of five musicians. The new composition will be performed at the next ISCM World New Music Days festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is one of the prominent figures of the youngest generation of Slovak composers, and his music has often transcended the boundaries of student festivals. His orchestral composition Acheron<\/em>, with which he won the Competition for Slovak Conservatory Students, was performed as part of the subscription series of the State Philharmonic Ko\u0161ice. His ensemble composition Regerna Symbio Irbis<\/em> was included in the program of last year’s Bratislava concert by the renowned Ensemble Modern.
